The Conversations Network
Some readers may know that I’ve been working with Doug Kaye and the team at IT Conversations since May 2005 or so, as a show description/website editor and Series Producer.
The next step in Doug’s (and the team’s, but mostly under Doug’s guiding hand) broad vision for open audio on the web is now live. It’s called The Conversations Network. From the mission statement:
“Every day scores of educational, inspirational and entertaining conference sessions, lectures and other spoken-word presentations are lost. They simply evaporate because no one records them. Some of these presentations are by the greatest and most inspiring minds of our time, and many would be important to people in the far reaches of the planet, if only they could hear them.”
The venerable IT Conversations is merely one channel of the network we expect. The new site offers a lot of great new tools, a new membership model (similar to NPR’s), and the same great listenting you’d expect from IT Conversations, with much more to come. Go over there and take a look!
