Rumors about Changes to the AIM Terms of Service and Your Privacy on AIM
AIM Terms of Service
AIM Privacy Policy
As Andrew Weinstein noted in the comments to this post, AOL has updated their terms of service. The newest version, when taken with their Privacy notice, addresses all of the concerns I had with the year-old change, though some content providers may still hesitate with the statements regarding AOL’s ability to repackage posted content without compensation. I think that language or similar clauses is fairly standard across the industry, unlike the rightly-reviled “You waive any right to privacy” which has been deleted.
Thank you, AOL, for listening to the belated conversation on this topic.
Update: Cory Doctorow’s post on the change.
