Yahoo! acquires flickr.

Wow. I hope this is cool. Flickr (in whose realm I’m only the merest neophyte) is greatly cool photo engine. Not only that, but it seems to be one that might actually have a business model (oooh. ahhh.).

Yahoo’s been doing some really cool stuff recently, and their entre into the blogging world was big news. Hopefully this infusion of cash will allow Flickr (whose future I sometimes doubted) to continue along its merry course.

BTW, their announcement post was very well-written, IMHO. Very user-centric, allaying the fears of the users while not disallowing change. Also very humorous, which never hurts with this crowd!
