Joshua at Bokardo thinking about attention
I’ve been really digging a lot of what Joshua Porter says over at Bokardo (and I really like the layout and interface of his site). But here’s a timely tale:
Here’s a scenario sure to be familiar to most of you:
You’re in your feed reader, and you’re scanning your feeds to see what’s new and interesting….Your problem is becoming more apparent (and worse) every day: which posts do I read? Which ones get my finite attention?
Bokardo » A Scenario about What Goes On when You’re Using a Feed Reader
I say timely in part due to Steve Gillmor (et. al.) and attention.xml. I can’t say for sure, but it seems that Josh may have started thinking about this dilemma without reference to Steve’s thoughts.
I think I’ve mentioned before that I’ve been thinking a lot about attention and specifically attention.xml, and while not completely convinced that it’s the panacea that Steve apparently seems to hope it will be, I’m intrigued. I have enough content for a dozen blog posts about it, but haven’t distilled my thinking about any of it to the point that I can even have a chance of putting it in writing. Soon, I hope, and soon after some utilities for my own use in exploring the attention.xml space.
Later: Turns out Joshua is thinking party about attention.xml. Also turns out I knew that. See the comments.
