Playing with OPML editor today

Thursday, July 28th, 2005

Amidst the cacophany of work tasks I’ll be playing with the aforementioned OPML Editor (thanks, Dave Winer).
Check out my OPML blog: elliptical . . . OPML Blog. It may not be active for a long time, but at least for the next few days while I try to play with the OPML Editor’s blogging [...]

Jon Udell on instant outlining

Wednesday, July 27th, 2005

Jon Udell writes a quick recap of outlining on the web and overview of Dave Winer’s OPML Editor.
I’ve been trying it out today (the editor); I’ve actually been waiting for it for a while - I was playing with the idea of extending the OPML Tools Sourceforge Project started by Philip Pearson and Matt Grayson, [...]

kbSearch plug-in updated

Wednesday, July 20th, 2005

Randy at kbcafe updated his meta-search engine to include paginated results, so I took that opportunity to update the kbSearch plug-in
to add Netscape’s Prev/Next sidebar functions and to fix some spelling errors in the source.
I think Randy’s looking for feedback; head over there and take a look, or get the plug-in and search away.

More on microformats: microformats meet social software

Tuesday, July 19th, 2005

My interest in social software has been growing recently. In point of fact, I’m not sure why. I’m truly not a very social person, and I basically have no friends (OK, I have few friends), but something about the networks possible in the social software web spaces intrigues me. Perhaps it has [...]

The Gryffindor has landed….

Saturday, July 16th, 2005

Well, after a rough day of waiting (and realizing that I had supplied the wrong address to the Amazonobots - meaning that it wouldn’t be delivered to my office until Monday instead of to my house today), we finally went to Barnes and Noble and picked up a copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood [...]

Does Microsoft’s software expire?

Thursday, July 14th, 2005

In Michael says “stick with the old stuff” Robert Scoble says:
Believe it or not, there’s no way we can force you to upgrade (nor should there be).
But, in every area he talks about I believe I can show pretty deep value for a whole range of businesses. I couldn’t live without the new Outlook, for [...]

New Rojo features

Thursday, July 14th, 2005

Barbara Stephenson of Rojo tells me they’ve implemented a few new features over the last few days, two of which related to requests that I (probably among others) had made.

They’ve made the selection for “Show unread” a sticky preference, meaning that once I set that option it stays set for return visits to the site. [...]

If you’re in the Boston area on Thursday and want to see the OPML Editor, come by Berkman Center at 7PM. Open to the public. Bring your Q’s.
Dave, when are you bringing it to your old haunts in Wisconsin? I’d be there!

Thanks, Rojo-folk! (and new version of Rojolicious)

Monday, July 11th, 2005

The folks over at Rojo have fixed a bug with the share page that was making the tag field disappear from the page. Now they’re back!

Since I use Rojolicious as my main in-road to posting entries to de.icio.us, missing this field was kind of a big deal to me. Thanks, Rojo!
In concert with [...]
