More on attention formats (and OPML namespaces)

Saturday, November 19th, 2005

It was great to see Nick Bradbury start to talk about the same idea I was talking about earlier; a discussion about the attributes of attention we’d like to see collected:
“What I propose is that aggregator users and developers have an open discussion about what specific attention data could (and should) be collected by aggregators.”
Nick […]

Analytics down (and a workaround)

Thursday, November 17th, 2005

I posted here that Google Analytics is down.
Steve at Quicksilverscreen.Com kindly provides a URL-hack to work around it.
Thanks, Steve! Shoulda thought of that myself

Alex Barnett/Kevin Burton: OPML as attention

Wednesday, November 16th, 2005

Close on the heels of my previous post about attention data formats (though certainly not prompted by it), Alex Barnett and Kevin Burton post a podcast (mp3) about, in part, OPML as attention data.
There’s some good stuff in there, not least the discussion of TailRank, which is the first attention-ranked content engine I’ve seen. […]

Microsofting today

Tuesday, November 15th, 2005

I’ll be at SQL Server 2005/Visual Studio 2005 launch events today.
If there’s wi-fi, I might try to blog it live. Not as big a deal as the Windows/Office Live events, but a pretty big deal to us Wisconsinites….

My son’s teeth…

Tuesday, November 15th, 2005

Update: That should be yesterday.
My son went to the dentist today yesterday. Pretty good appointment, but at dinner he had a question to ask:
“Papa, did you ever have your magic teeth?”
Took me a few seconds to realize that he meant my wisdom teeth.

Frappr map..

Friday, November 11th, 2005

OK, you can call me a joiner if you want, but at least I’m in good company (first Team ITC, then Scripting News, and Digg).
If you read elliptical, and are so motivated, stop on over to Frappr and add yourself to the elliptical readers map. I have no expectations, but looking at the dots […]

The number 0 reason why Dave Winer doesn’t pay attention to attention…

Thursday, November 10th, 2005

I have another reason to add to Steve’s list of Top Ten Reasons Dave Winer doesn’t care about attention.
Dave’s seemingly a person of many strongly-held opinions.  One that echos in my recollections of Dave’s writing was quotably reiterated just a few days ago:
“But imho, one way to do something, no matter how flawed that one […]

New features in Rojo!

Friday, November 4th, 2005

There are some new features showing up in Rojo - a brief (and seemingly incomplete) note in this Forum post; no news from the rojo-folk about the balance of the new features yet, but I’m sure it’s coming.
Here’s what I’m seeing:

Permalink to this story in Rojo - not sure what the goal of this one […]

Doc’s newest podcast…

Tuesday, November 1st, 2005

… is here. Don’t know that I’ll listen to this one - I’m not overly interested in KZSB, but that’s neither here nor there.
Actually I wanted to comment on 2 things.
Yesterday I called TDS Metrocom, our local phone and DSL carrier, who I’ve been nominally pleased with to this point. They had contacted […]

Belatedly Happy Hallowe’en…

Tuesday, November 1st, 2005

…and a Happy Samhain and New Year, to boot.
I think it’s time for some leaf turning.
