About the s-word

Saturday, August 5th, 2006

Dave Winer:
So, ironically, all these people who tell us to shut up have one thing in common, they’re fighting for freedom, but don’t see the contradiction that freedom has to be inclusive. If you fight for your freedom by supressing someone else’s, well, the math just doesn’t work. Freedom isn’t exclusive, it has to be […]

Standalone WordPress posting with the OPML Editor solved…

Thursday, November 24th, 2005

UPDATE: Steve Jensen brings up a good point in his post - that all instances of user_login ($args[1]) and user_password ($ars[2]) need to be trimmed in order for other method calls (like “edit”) to succeed. xmlrpc.php.txt has been updated.
As long as you’re able to replace files on your WordPress install, my hack will fix […]

Simple Sharing Extensions up close…

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2005

I’ve been looking more closely at the SSE announcement since it came out; the next few posts are likely to be about this, and some (like this one) fairly (ok, very) long, so be forewarned….

elliptical . . .

Saturday, October 15th, 2005

… and of Dave …
I’ve seen Dave talking a lot about browsing blog posts via OPML. I like OPML for a lot of purposes (subscription lists, reading lists, almost any kind of list, outlines), but don’t get Dave’s big picture vision yet. That said, I like the idea of being able to include […]

Kudos to Allen (and Wondir)!

Wednesday, October 12th, 2005

On two (belated) fronts.

On the professional level: Revolution Health Group Announces Initial Acquisitions, Wondir acquired. I think this is good news, and Allen seems to think so, too, though the portion of the press release dealing with the Wondir purchase minimizes Wondir’s true nature:
“Wondir, Inc., which provides a community-based search for information about health […]

A problem with the Structured Blogging plug-in for WordPress

Friday, July 8th, 2005

I’ve found a problem with the Structured Blogging WordPress plug-in, namely that it generates non-valid XHTML.
I haven’t done a lot of background poking at it, but my evidence is that when I attempted to validate my blog against The W3C Markup Validation Service. I came up with 180 errors (most of which are my […]

Dracula Blogged: About this blog project
Not the first time something like this has been done, I think, but pretty cool nonetheless. I may have to catch up and read along….
