Mycroft Search engine plugins for Mozilla browsers

These plugins are installed in Mozilla-style browsers to integrate specific search site functionality to the search box or sidebar, as appropriate.

Except as noted below, I'm unaware of any testing other than mine that has been done. If you encounter a problem or have a suggestion, email me at cori@kinrowan.net

  • kbSearch Search Plugin

    • updated 2005-07-20
    • This plugin allows users to submit query strings to kbSearch.
    • This plugin currently works with the Firefox search box and returns simple results in the Netscape sidebar.
    • Since Randy has added parameters for pagination, this plug-in should be able to use Netscape's Prev/Next buttons in the sidebar as well.

  • podscope.com Search Plugin

    • This plugin allows users to submit query strings to podscope - you're listening. we're searching..
    • This plugin currently works with the Firefox search box and returns simple results in the Netscape sidebar. In Netscape the results are represented by microphone icons and link to the podscope flashplayer frameset for the podcast in question.

  • BEcome.com Search Plugin

    • This plugin allows users to submit query strings to Become: Be Smart, Be Thrifty, Just Be.
    • This plugin currently works with the Firefox search box and returns simple results in the Netscape sidebar. The Prev/Next buttons are disabled until the mozilla engine allow for custom input start numbers.

  • All Podcasts Search Plugin

    • This plugin allows users to submit query strings to AllPodcasts.
    • This plugin currently works with the Firefox search box and returns simple results in the Netscape sidebar, but is unable to correctly use prev | next button in Netscape, but the prev/next buttons are disabled due to the implementation of previous and next results at allpodcasts. This may change if the allpodcasts team makes changes to their engine.

  • Technorati Search Plugin

    • This plugin allows users to submit url or keyword queries to the Technorati engine.
    • This plugin currently works with the search box and returns simple results in the Netscape sidebar.

  • Wondir Search Plugin

    • This plugin allows users to submit questions directly to Wondir.com.
    • This plugin currently only works with the search box - results do not display in the Netscape sidebar. Also, due to implmentation at Wondir.com, the search returns an error (duplicate submission). The question is actually submitted, and I think the Wondir developers are looking at this.
